They are buying in to your system and won’t quit on you like they did on Wade (at least I don’t think they will. You really can’t completely trust a unit once they’ve quit before, that includes DeMarcus Ware. Anyone who disagrees with this statement didn’t watch the Green Bay game last year). For these reasons and others, I’m glad you’re our Defensive Coordinator. Heck, I even put on a grey wig and a Dallas Cowboys hat and sweatshirt and went as you for Halloween! That being said, despite what you have instilled since you’ve been here, we can’t go very far with this defense. (more…)

The Dallas Cowboys’ victory over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday was a total team effort. But some of your favorite Dallas’ players made monster contributions towards that win. So in my new weekly series, Earning Their Stars, I’ll honor the best of those Cowboy players and grade their performances.

Tony Romo, Quarterback

After a disastrous performance in the Week One loss to the New York Jets, Tony Romo rebounded with a stellar game against the 49ers. Despite nursing a fractured rib, Romo was 22 of 33 for 345 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. His toughness and clutch play in the waning moments of the game was the stuff of true legends. (more…)

Jumping all the way to the bank!

In the mother of all head scratchers, the front office debacle that has been this season’s Dallas Cowboy’s free agency moves continues. Wide receiver Laurent Robinson was cut yesterday in order to make room for fullback Tony Fiammetta to rejoin the team. Since Robinson was a vested veteran player signed prior to Week One, he is owed the entire amount of his contract. $685,000. And he never played one single moment for the Cowboys.

Robinson was signed last Wednesday morning after a Valley Ranch tryout two days before. It was initially thought that Robinson was brought in to compete for the third wide receiver position on the Cowboy’s depth chart. But after yesterday actions, he was clearly signed on as insurance just in case Miles Austin missed Sunday night’s game due to his hamstring issues. (more…)
