The Cowboys finally filled the vacancy left by Ray Sherman at the wide receivers coaching position. Jason Garret has hired former Green Bay wide receivers coach Jimmy Robinson as assistant head coach and as the team’s new wide receiver coach. The move comes just about a week after the Packers won Super Bowl XLV against the Steelers.

Garrett and Robinson have previously worked together from 2000-2003, during their time with the New York Giants. Robinson was the team’s wide receiver coach, while Garrett was the backup quarterback.

Robinson helped develop the likes of Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, James Jones and Jordy Nelson during his time with the Packers, so let us hope he can work the same magic with Miles Austin, Dez Bryant and Roy Williams.

Woicik was the Cowboys strength & conditioning coach from 1990 to 1996, when the team went 89-38, including 12 playoff wins. He then spent the next three seasons with the New Orleans Saints before joining the Patriots in 2000 when Bill Belichick took over.

Woicik was named the NFL’s strength coach of the year in 1992 and 2004 by the Professional Football Strength and Conditioning Society. His return to the team could make a huge impact and prove to be one of the most underrated signings this offseason.
