]]> When I first read about Joe Avezzano’s death on April 5, 2012, I didn’t think a lot about it.  I didn’t even know who he was, truth be told.  As I began to read countless stories about his life, it got me to thinking that he needed a proper tribute here at the Landry Hat.  So forgive me for being two weeks late with what many of you already knew about this legend.

Coach Joe, that’s what everyone called him.  As the special teams coach for the Dallas Cowboys, (1990-2002), he was loved by players, fellow coaches, and fans.  His ability to make people smile and his power to motivate players made him a most beloved coach.  He will be forever missed by those who knew him.
