The Dallas Cowboys offense looked lost today in the 7-6 victory over the Washington Redskins in Cowboys Stadium.

The nail-biter of a game ended with a Anthony Spencer interception of a tipped pass.

The Cowboys played a team down to their third-string running back and a slew of injuries to the offensive line. Yet, the Cowboys could only muster one touchdown to Patrick Crayton late in the game.

The Cowboys offenses lacks originality. Although Tony Romo was 7-7 on that final game-winning drive, before that he had only one catch by a wide receiver. One catch. His passes were off. He threw one interceptions but that easily could have been three because two would-be interceptions were just dropped by Redskins defenders.

It doesn’t seem like Jason Garrett, the Cowboys offensive coordinator, knows how to use the weapons he has. Felix Jones is not really an up-the-middle type runner, yet that is how the Cowboys used him today. No wildcat plays. No sweeping pitch plays.

As for the passing game, I am beside myself to figure out why this team has not been as explosive as the stats show. After the Thanksgiving game against the Oakland Raiders, who just upset the Bengals, the Cowboys have three straight tough games against the Giants, Chargers and the undefeated Saints.

The only thing that I see is Romo is not throwing “perfect” passes every time, but who does. Roy Williams is not making missed opportunities to make three big catches, receptions were have grown to see from stars like Michael Irvin, Jerry Rice, Cris Carter and Randy Moss.

You can watch the game tape all week, and it’s not easy pinpointing what exactly is wrong with the passing game. At this stage of the season, players shouldn’t be lost on routes, and Romo should be well-acquainted with the plays.

Hey, I don’t make this stuff up. Another blogger is saying that Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten is the best in the NFL. You can see the post here.

Remember this post and all of the whining that came from the minority Anti-Cowboys bloc? Of course, the biggest cries came from the weak Chiefs fans. Well, it should be noted that their loverboy, Tony Gonzalez, ranked SIXTH. Yes, that is the number 6.

There are reasons why so many bloggers and writers are saying that Jason Witten is the top tight end in the game. It doesn’t take a genius to realize he has skills in almost every facet of the game. It’s laughable that anyone would even try to argue he is not a top tight end, like the Chiefs fans tried to do earlier.

Other notable ranks are:

2. Antonio Gates, Chargers.

3. Jeremy Shockey, Saints. (ridiculous)

7. Chris Cooley, Redskins.

12. Alge Crumpler, Titans. (washed up)

24. Anthony Fasano, Dolphins.
