Ever hear Anquan Boldin moan about his team losing, and threatening not to play for them ever gain?

Ever hear Roy Williams complain that Detroit consistently stinks, and threaten to hold out if he is not traded?

The answer is no, we have not. That’s because Boldin and Williams have class. They have respect for their teammates and their coaches.

So, it makes you wonder what is up Chad Johnson’s rear end, and do the Dallas Cowboys want to inherit that malady? Yes, the Bengals have flopped after a promising season a few years ago. Yes, the Bengals have been one of the worst franchises over the past 20 years. But so have Detroit and Arizona. Their players aren’t making threats and telling announcers on every radio and television sports program that they’ll take all offers.

So far, the only offer for Johnson came from the Washington Crapskins, a team that we can’t really consider a Super Bowl caliber team.

During yesterday’s press conference with Jerry Jones, he said that the Cowboys may move up, move down or trade during Saturday’s highly-anticipated draft. He said he has not contacted Cincinnati about Johnson. But he admitted he has had discussions about a different wide receiver, likely Boldin or Williams.

Hooray for Jerry!!! I think it is a smart move to steer far away from Chad Johnson. I mean, for some reason, the duo of Terrell Owens and Johnson doesn’t sit well in my stomach. Who would implode first, even though T.O. seems to have turned a new leaf?

UPDATE: ESPN is reporting that Boldin is asking to be traded, but this comes through his agent, the ubiquitous Drew Rosenhaus. The Redskins, acting as if fire is lit to Daniel Snyder’s ass, made an offer for the receiver. It, too, was turned down in a blaze of glory.

Anytime I reference a Star-Telegram article, I have to disclose that the paper’s Dallas Cowboys reporters’ claim to fame is they are “Right more than we are Wrong.” So with that said, let’s turn the page to Randy Galloway’s interesting Easter Sunday article that is full of juicy garbage.

Rest assured, according to Galloway’s report, owner Jerry Jones still is telling people he has a few tricks up his sleeves in what has been an otherwise boring off season. Not that the Cowboys need to make huge splashes with a 13-3 team, but it would have been nice to sign someone other than a 50-year-old linebacker with a missing vertebrae in his neck.

“I can assure everyone,” Jones answered [and this was on Thursday], “our pursuit of talent is far from over.”

Oh really, Jerry? Cool beans, man. Who the hell is left out there for the Cowboys to pick up? Reche Caldwell? I mean come on. Galloway tries to play with out anxious hearts with this doozy of an article. Catch this series of sentences and make sure you don’t have anything in your mouth. Yes, Steamroller, swallow that swig of Miller Lite:

What is the organization’s No. 1 priority between now and training camp?

“Without question, creating a threat on the other side of the ball from Owens,” said Jerry.

Just what I wanted to hear. Many others haven’t agreed, but to me, finding another receiver, or two, topped any list of needs.

“I’ve ruled out nothing when it comes to those options, or possible options,” said Jerry.

That statement is backed by another NFL voice who said Friday, “within the league, you hear the Cowboys are attempting, or will attempt, to work a trade for Chad Johnson, for Roy Williams, for maybe others.”

“By another NFL voice?” This surely comes off as a spurious statement to put in an article. Here is where Galloway goes bonkers. Again, notice how he reminds us the above statements are based on no facts, and then he comes out with another unsourced gem that is as shocking as the Chad Johnson or Roy Williams trade.

I repeat, Jerry mentioned no names, but did stress not to rule out any possible deal when it comes to a wide receiver.

The Cowboys thought they had an agreement with free-agent receiver Javon Walker, who had actually already moved to Irving. But then the Raiders started throwing around crazy money. Walker, with knee injury issues, did the sensible thing and took Al Davis’ $16 million guaranteed, about $14 million above market value.

Wow. This guy is on a roll. We quickly come back to reality when Galloway returns to using sourced, good, journalistic information.

One receiver Jones did mention, without hesitation, was none other than Terry Glenn. Speaking of knee issues.

“I would urge you not to rule out Terry,” he said. “He will be here, he will on the roster, and don’t be surprised if he’s healthy. That’s all I will say. Don’t be surprised.”

Folks, the Cowboys aren’t going to do squat this off season. The draft is what we have to look forward to. Forget about Chad Johnson. Forget about Anquan Boldin. It’s highly unlikely Detroit wide receiver Roy Williams is going anywhere. Terry Glenn will start the season. He will be the second receiver. And we only have hope that he performs well. Keep your fingers crossed.
