The Cowboys drafted an athletic linebacker in 2009, Jason Williams.  Williams was a non-factor in two years with the Cowboys and was cut in November 2010.

Bob Sturm went through the effort to compiling Youtube game tape of Bruce Carter.  It is wildly unimpressive.  Carter is not a physical linebacker and seemingly avoids blocks at every opportunity.  While he may become a pass rushing specialist playing opposite of DeMarcus Ware, it is difficult to imagine he will make the transition to interior linebacker as an heir apparent to Bradie James.

It should be noted that Carter was coached by Butch Davis who may have an open avenue of communication to Jerry Jones.  This pick and the game film will leave many scratching their heads, but time will tell.
