Mike Jenkins status for Sunday's game in New York doesn't look to good.

Corner back Mike Jenkins and tackle Tyron Smith were injured in Wednesday morning’s practice session. The practice was in full pads, but with only light hitting. Both players went down with knee injuries.  And both players were scheduled for MRI’s Wednesday afternoon. Those results have not yet been shared with the public.

But rumor is that they both have hyper-extended knees. Recovery time for those kinds of injuries is usually 2-4 weeks. Both players are currently being listed as day-to-day.

Jenkins was just returning from a stinger that kept him sidelined most of the pre-season and training camp. With the fact he has still been unable to participate in a full practice yet, his chances of playing in just four days are slim. If Jenkins can not play, expect Orlando Scandrick and Alan Ball to be your starting corner backs against the Jets. 2nd year player Bryan McCann would back them up. (more…)
