There is even a common slogan most Cowboys haters’ follow known as the “A.B.C. Method.” This of course stands for “Anybody BUT the Cowboys.” Just as we Cowboys fans grew up soaking up the ‘Boys and all their glory and falling in love, others were trained “You root for our team AND WHOEVER Dallas is playing.” So it would then seem most Dallas haters’ have indeed TWO favorite teams.

As we find out last week, it should come as no surprise that there is an entire nation of fans and haters’ out there when it comes to our ‘Boys. Before we continue the countdown, let’s take a look at the list so far…

10. “The Dallas Cowboys wear white at home”

9. “All the players have a ‘better than you’ attitude”

8. “We ALWAYS ‘have to watch’ them on Thanksgiving”

7. “EVERYONE is ALWAYS talking about them on TV and they are ALWAYS playing on national TV”

6. “They Just Suck” (One of the most common I might add)

How many of you have heard the terms “Cow-girls,” “Cow-pukes,” “Choke-Boys” etc.?

 Unless you are a Dallas Cowboys fan living under a cave on the other side of the planet, void of any human interaction, you know good and well our Dallas Cowboys are THE MOST hated team in the National Football League as well as one of the most hated teams in major professional sports.

No team in major American professional sports (other than maybe NBA’s Lakers and MLB’s Yankees) evokes such an emotional response at the mere mention of their name than the Dallas Cowboys. When one even hears the name “Dallas Cowboys,” many sports fans either cringe at the very words and immediately start shouting obscenities, OR (if you are a fan) your eyes light up and are looking for the nearest high-five from a fellow fan (I’m in this boat).

Whichever boat you happen to fall in, there are MANY (WAY more than 10 by way) reasons why opposing fans loathe our ‘Boys. Here are reasons 10 through 6… (leading up to 5 through 1 next week). And don’t worry, I will also have a “Top 10 Reasons Why People LOVE Our Dallas Cowboys” article soon as well. Not surprisingly, a few reasons will be on BOTH lists.

 That was the loud and crystal clear message sent by this year’s draft crop. As a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, it’s more than comforting to know that the Cowboys’ coaches and executives are fully committed to maximizing the talents of their franchise quarterback (a franchise quarterback who will see his overall duties increase this season as written into his contract).

That was the message, but it was not received well by the overwhelming majority of Cowboys Nation.

 I personally spent most of Thursday night and ALL DAY Friday trying desperately to talk my Cowboys family and friends off the proverbial cliff. Every fan I talked to over the weekend was ready to renounce their fandom and burn Jerry Jones at the stake…alive. (more…)
