If you haven’t heard yet, there’s a new way to play fantasy football that turns the season long grind into quick hitting one week leagues. And the best part is that you can win cash every single week. You draft a team for one week and get paid out when the Monday Night Football game ends. DraftStreet.com is at the forefront of this new trend in the fantasy world and is giving us a great promotion to kick off the season: a FREE one-week fantasy league with $250 in prizes exclusively for members of The Landry Hat.

This free contest will be salary-cap style drafting where everyone tries to assemble the best team out of the available players. You will have a $100,000 budget to build a team of 2 QBs, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 2 FLEX, and 1 Defense. Each NFL player has been assigned a price based on their expected fantasy performance. For example, for week 2 Tom Brady costs $19,593 where as Mark Sanchez only costs $10,252.

In 2011, Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray ran for 897 yards in just 13 games, averaging 5.5 yards per carry. For a rookie these are some very impressive numbers. A fractured ankle, however cut Murray’s rookie season short. With such a devastating injury, many are skeptical of Murray’s ability to produce at the same level in 2012 as he did in 2011.

According to official Cowboys Minicamp reports, Murray is back at full health and has been doing very well in practices. One area where he’s shown particular promise is in the passing game. Josh Ellis of the Cowboys official website says “He’s caught a LOT of passes this summer.”

If Murray’s 2012 season is anything like last year’s, he will be one of the most exciting backs in the league, and will bring Dallas that much closer to the playoff run that has eluded them for so many years.

This guest post was made by the SeatCrunch team.

No one is quite sure what Dallas Cowboys cornerback Mike Jenkins’ future holds. The Cowboys have clearly stated that they aren’t going to trade him. Jenkins’ agent has clearly stated that he wants to be traded. It’s a sticky situation for the star DB, who recorded 19 defended passes and 49 tackles in his second NFL season.

It is clear why Jenkins is upset though, the Cowboys picked up Morris Claiborne and Brandon Carr this offseason. However, this move was not made because they were looking to replace Jenkins, it was because they were looking to create competition in their secondary. With Jenkins missing OTAs, that competition will not be there for the preseason.

Right now it seems like the best thing for Dallas to do is sit, wait and hope Jenkins returns. If they trade him away, they ensure the loss of one of the best defenders on their team.
