The Dallas Cowboys have started OTA’s and they are hoping these players can step up this season. So who will be their X-factor and wildcard players?

The Dallas Cowboys were the NFC East champions last year but the rest of the division has brought in players to help them compete against the Cowboys.

So the Cowboys are a going to be looking for this player to step up and be the x-factor on offense. While the other has the potential to become their wildcard player who can become problems for the rest of the division on defense.

Dallas Cowboys X-factor player is Michael Gallup.

The reason I say it’s Gallup is that he would be able to force teams to defend the opposite side of the field. He came on late last season and if he can continue to grow then teams will be forced to honor his playmaking ability. It will also take the focus off of fellow receiver Amari Cooper who will assuredly face double teams majority of the season. If Gallup plays well he will also open up the field for both tight end Jason Witten and new slot receiver Randall Cobb.

Gallup has all the ability in the world to become a very dangerous number two receiver in the NFL. The Cowboys just have to hope he can take that next step this season.

The Dallas Cowboys Wildcard Player is George Iloka.

The Cowboys had the chance to bring in either Eric Berry or Earl Thomas but elected not to. Now Iloka is coming into a group that is in need of a sure tackler that can also cover tight ends. Iloka won’t have an easy path to the starting job with incumbent safety Jeff Heath still on the team. But Iloka has shown in the past he can do this but he has also been inconsistent at times in his career.

If the Cowboys get the best from Iloka and you pair him with the rangy and hard-hitting Xavier Woods then you have two strong starting safeties that can cover the whole field.
