With the 191st overall selection in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select Xavier Woods, safety from Louisiana Tech.

With their first selection in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys got their pass rushing war daddy in Michigan defensive end Taco Charlton. In the second round, the Cowboys began to shore up their defensive secondary by selecting Colorado defensive back Chidobe Awuzie.

In the fourth round, the Cowboys selected wide receiver/punt returner Ryan Switzer. Then, Dallas traded the New York Jets a 2018 fifth round selection for their 2017 sixth rounder at #191. So who did Dallas trade up for?

Weight: 197 lbs.
Combine 40 Speed/Vertical: 4.54/33 1/2
2016 Numbers: 89 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, 11 pds, 5 ints

Player Breakdown: Four year starter at LaTech. Versatile player. A Cowboys pre-draft visitor. 14 interceptions in last three seasons. Good football intelligence. Solid in coverage. Lacks overall speed.

Cowboys Analysis: Could fit in the Cowboys free safety role. Unlikely to be able to leapfrog either Jeff Heath or Byron Jones on the starting lineup, but provides quality depth at the position. Will make an immediate impact on special teams.
