With the 216th overall selection in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select cornerback Marquez White.

With their first selection in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys got their pass rushing war daddy in Michigan defensive end Taco Charlton. In the second round, the Cowboys began to shore up their defensive secondary by selecting Colorado defensive back Chidobe Awuzie.

Going into the third day of the draft, the Cowboys picked North Carolina wide receiver Ryan Switzer. Then the Cowboys traded a future fifth rounder to the New York Jets to select Xavier Woods, a safety out of Louisiana Tech.

Then, the Cowboys traded back from pick #211 in the sixth round with the New England Patriots to #216. Dallas gained an extra seventh round selection (#239) to make the move. So who did the Cowboys actually pull the trigger on when their number was called?

With the 216th overall selection in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select…

Marquez White, Cornerback, Florida State

Here’s what you need to know about the young prospect and the newest Dallas Cowboy:

Height: 5’11”
Weight: 194 lbs.
Combine 40 Speed/Vertical: 4.59/36
2016 Numbers: 25 tackles, 6 pds, 2 ints

Player Breakdown: Plays better in zone coverage than man. Has great raw traits. Has tools worth developing. Has good combination of foot speed and quickness. Good arm length and body frame for the position. Inconsistent player, will draw flags. Not a good tackler.

Cowboys Analysis: Third cornerback selection in this draft by Dallas. White provides solid depth in secondary. Could find a bigger role in 2018 with both veteran corners Orlando Scandrick and Nolan Carroll both on the wrong side of thirty.
