Dallas Cowboys Seven Round Mock Draft: Version 3.0

As the reality of the draft nears, I take my third shot at predicting what the Dallas Cowboys could do just two weeks from now to improve the roster.
It seems almost impossible to say, but the NFL Draft is a mere two weeks away. In just twelve days, we can all stop guessing who the Dallas Cowboys will draft.
From Thursday, April 27 through Saturday the 29th, a few new players added to the Cowboys family. While we obviously won’t know the names until those days, we can assume that Dallas will use this draft to bolster their defense.
This specific draft is deep when it comes to talent along the defensive line and secondary. Those two areas just so happen to be the Cowboys biggest needs. You’ve certainly heard about the Cowboys targeting the best players available when they pick.
While that will be the case, to some degree, it will be a shock if two of their first three picks are not on the defensive side of the ball.
In my first two mock drafts, I have followed that model as well.
The first mock draft I put out, exactly one month ago from Friday, had the Dallas Cowboys drafting UCLA cornerback Fabian Moreau in round one. In version two, I stuck with the same position as I believe it’s the Cowboys biggest need. Due to Moreau’s injury, however, I went with Ohio State’s Gareon Conley instead.
Scanning various other mock drafts out there, it seems that most see Dallas going in a different direction. Instead of looking at the secondary, many have the Cowboys addressing the defensive line first.
Of the six I reviewed, two have another UCLA star, defensive end Takkarist McKinley being the choice with the 28th pick. Two others elected to go with Missouri defensive end Charles Harris. The final two had cornerbacks but there was no consensus.
As for my mock attempt, both McKinley and Harris were on the board when it came my time to draft. Either I’m stubborn or it was just too good to pass up, but again I opted for a cornerback again.
