The biggest news all offseason in the NFL concerned the future of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. And it finally appears we have a conclusion.

It’s now being reported by several sources that the Cowboys could release Romo on Tuesday and he will elect to retire from the league to pursue a television career as a color commentator.

If true, this could mark the end of a terrific 14-year career for Romo, all of which was spent in Dallas. He is currently the all-time leader in passing yardage (34,183), passing touchdowns (248) and passer rating (97.1) for the Cowboys.

But for all Romo has accomplished on the field in Dallas, his legacy remains unclear without a Super Bowl victory under his belt. Still, all Cowboy fans should honor what the undrafted free agent out of Eastern Illinois has done as the face of their franchise for over a decade.

In fact, many fans took to social media in order to express their appreciation for Romo on Tuesday morning, along with teammates and members of the media. Below we’ve collected some of the best reactions from Twitter to the retirement news.
