With the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine just two weeks away, there are a lot of names that I am keeping an eye on to see how they test and perform in combine drills.

Naturally, most of the names that intrigue me the most happen to be players that I believe can help further enhance a young and talented roster for the greatest franchise in all of sports- the Dallas Cowboys.

I am going to explore a lot of players at different round projections throughout this process, so please keep that in mind before thinking that this is the exact group of players that the Cowboys will or should take.

We have seen since assistant director of personnel Will McClay and head coach Jason Garrett have had more influence in the draft process, the Cowboys have tried their best to objectively take the best players available based on their evaluations and not on being a need.

The greatest drafts find a way to draft the best players on the board while still addressing team needs; understanding where the value picks are at different points of the draft is the true challenge.

The Dallas brass make a move to add a pure speed element to the offense while still staying focused on boosting the team’s defensive talent throughout the draft in this week’s draft.
