Dallas Cowboys: How realistic is a reunion with DeMarcus Ware?

Should the Dallas Cowboys try to sign their former pass rusher, defensive end DeMarcus Ware via free agency this offseason?
With the conclusion of Super Bowl 51, NFL football has officially ended which will bring is into 200 plus days of offseason speculation. With the start of free agency only a month away, there are some rather interesting players hitting open market. One such player is a former Dallas Cowboys veteran who might just find his way back home this offseason.
The Cowboys could seek to unite with their most famous pass rusher of the last decade as Denver Bronco, DeMarcus Ware is headed to free agency. The Broncos have said that they would wish to retain Ware but that could all change as free agency approaches.
Ware struggled to stay healthy last season, recording 15 total tackles and 4.0 sacks in 10 games. But he is now apparently healthy and could have one last big year before he decides to hang up his cleats.
The former Cowboy also had to take less money to stay on a Denver team that are seemingly out of the Super Bowl conversation (for now). One could argue that Dallas is on the upswing and is more viable a Super Bowl contender than the Broncos. So with Denver likely allocating more resources to bolster their offense this offseason, them re-signing Ware seems fairly unlikely. This could give the Cowboys the inside track into one of the NFL’s best pass rushers.

The veteran pass rusher would probably not demand a tremendous amount of salary. I speculate it will likely cost the team less than $5 million to sign the 34-year old. According to Spotrac.com, Miami Dolphins’ pass rusher Cameron Wake, who is 35-years old, is scheduled to make $7 million this upcoming season. Wake recorded 29 total tackles and 11.5 sacks in 2016.
Ware spent most of his career in Dallas so ending it their with a team finally capable of winning a Super Bowl title seems like the optimum way for his career to end.

At the very least for Dallas, this team could use a healthy DeMarcus Ware to bolster their pass rush. I would even argue that they draft another pass rusher with their first overall pick if the Ware signing occurs. The return of defensive lineman Charles Tapper and linebacker Jaylon Smith could make this an elite unit if the Cowboys bring back their all time sack leader for one final run.
