The Dallas Cowboys are sitting at 8-1 after besting the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week Ten. Here are four thoughts about the team after the big win.

The Dallas Cowboys are rolling after they bested their old rivals the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Steel City. This was one of the games that was highlighted in the offseason as a big test for this team regardless of record, injuries or who the quarterback was.

Any team heading into Pittsburgh facing a Steelers’ squad that is on a losing streak will have a tough task ahead of them. And Dallas got it done. There are still plenty of questions that remain as we move towards the final weeks of the regular season.

The one question that has appeared to have been answered is that of what to do with Cowboys veteran quarterback Tony Romo.

Dak Prescott the starter going forward

Romo held a press conference on Tuesday where he read a statement that dealt with the supposed quarterback controversy. It was easily one of the more emotional and heartfelt statements made by a Dallas player in quite some time, as number 9 accepting both the joy and sadness of his team’s success and the injury that kept him out for ten weeks.

He fully supported Dak Prescott as the starter and will only look to support the rookie as the season goes on. The Cowboys veteran recognized that leading a team to an 8-1 record in the NFL is tough and what Dak has done is nothing short of remarkable.

This is a big step in the right direction at least in terms of quieting the chatter surrounding the Cowboys talented rookie signal caller. Dak does not need to look over his shoulder (not that he ever did) but now it does appear the Cowboys rotation for quarterback is set for the rest of the season.

An inspiring game for Dez Bryant

The Cowboys brightest star Dez Bryant had a moment during the Week Ten contest with the Pittsburgh Steelers that will ripple through time as he caught a deep ball from Dak and ran into the end zone. Dez immediately pointed to the sky as he knew his father was looking down on him smiling.

For everyone who has lost a love one, especially their father, there are a lot of things that can happen to you but for Bryant to play the way he did on Sunday was just remarkable. The team seemed overcome with emotion for their star wide receiver and that continued in the locker room.

The love surrounding Bryant from his teammates and coaches was real, and every fan got to feel that love on Sunday. Number 88’s touchdown catch was crucial in getting this team back in the game and back on the path to victory.

Elliott’s big game

We need to start asking is Ezekiel Elliott human or did he emerge from a video game because this kid is making history the likes of which has not been seen in quite some time. He is even being talked about as the primary competition for Tom Brady in the MVP race. He recorded over 200 yards on a Steelers defense that was thought to be pretty stout against the run.

He got into the end zone three times, which easily makes this his best game of the season. His two rushing touchdowns came when the team needed him the most as he has become the tone setter for this offense.

If Zeke gets his carries it is only a matter of time before he hits a home run, and for the Steelers that time was with a couple of ticks left in the ball game. He put the team on his back and the Cowboys rode number 21 to victory, and he is still hungry.

One game at a time

The Cowboys beat a historic rival and Sunday and are currently on a winning steak that has not been seen since 1977. With that said, Dallas’s approach will not change, they are still taking things one day at a time.

With a tough date with the Baltimore Ravens at home the Cowboys must be on their A game after such an emotional victory, but we have seen this before. After their victory against the Philadelphia Eagles, the media appeared to think that the Cowboys would take their next opponent a bit lightly, that did not happen.
