For fans of American Football, almost nothing matches the joy a new NFL regular season brings. Fans hopes are renewed as the believe this year could be their year. And, so it is also for Dallas Cowboys fans as their team starts the 2014 NFL regular season on Sunday.

It’s been five years since the Cowboys were in the postseason. The last three have seen Dallas finishing those seasons with a loss to an NFC East rival, giving them an 8-8 final record and costing them a playoff berth every single time.

But, for better or worse, 2014 certainly seems different. In some ways, this may be the best offense the Cowboys have had in some time. But this also might be the worst defense in NFL history. So goes the yo-yo effect that is being a Dallas Cowboys fan in the modern era.

With the NFL regular season officially kicking off tonight, I asked every Landry Hat staff writer to submit their predictions for the Cowboys in 2014. In following pages, you’ll find part one of those results (10 of 20 predictions). I hope you enjoy them. And I hope you’ll join in the conversation by placing your own predictions in the comments section below.
