The Dallas Cowboys Cut Their Roster Down To 75; Who's Gone?

The Dallas Cowboys, along with every other NFL team, is required to cut down their currently overinflated roster to 75 players today. And the Cowboys front office got started early, cutting defensive end Martez Wilson and undrafted rookie fullback J.C. Copeland on Monday. Now Dallas has made more cuts in order to comply with the NFL guidelines.

Here are today’s cuts to get the team’s roster down to 75 players.

Chris Boyd, WR
Tom Hornsey, P
Casey Kreiter, LS
Adewale Ojomo, DE
Wayne Tribue, G
Jordan Najvar TE (waived/injured)
Matt Johnson, S (waived/injured)
Justin Green, CB (waived/injured)
DeVonte Holloman, LB (waived/injured)
Johnny Thomas, S (waived/injured)
Caleb Hanie, QB
Ben Gardner, DE – Injured Reserved List (out for season)
Amobi Ok0ye – Reserve/Non-football Illness List (out first six weeks)

The Cowboys will face the Denver Broncos on Thursday night. This will be the last opportunity for players on the fringe of being cut to impress the coaching staff and win a spot of the final roster. According to the NFL, all teams must cut down their team to a final 53-man roster by this Saturday.

For the Cowboys, their cuts will probably exceed the 53 limit as they should be very active adding waived players from other teams. Expect Dallas’ roster to change drastically over the weekend.
