Defensive Tackle, Dallas Cowboys
After signing with the Dallas Cowboys late last week, defensive tackle Zach Minter made a huge impact during Saturday night’s preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens. The former 2013 undrafted rookie free agent out of Montana State recorded four tackles and two sacks in his first action as a Cowboy. Granted it was late in the game against players who’ll probably won’t make the Ravens final roster come September. Still, considering he just signed a couple days ago, his performance was impressive. Minter made his professional debut mid-season last year with the Chicago Bears. He was released in November to make room on the Bears’ roster for former Cowboy All-Pro defensive tackle Jay Ratliff. Minter spent this offseason with the Cincinnati Bengals before being released on August 8th. The Cowboys, who are in desperate need for quality defensive line play, may have found yet another gem to add to their growing list of successfully recycled players as Minter showed unique burst, pass rush ability and tons of energy in his Dallas debut.
