Cowboys, Chargers Preseason Game Time and Channel Information

The Dallas Cowboys will kick-off the NFL preseason against the San Diego Chargers late this Thursday night at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California. The game will air on the NFL Network, as well as several other affiliate stations (see below), starting at 9:00 p.m. CST, 10:00 p.m. EST, 7:00 p.m. PST.

For the Cowboys, starting quarterback Tony Romo will likely sit out this first preseason game as the 34-year old is recovering from back surgery in December. That means former first round pick and Cleveland Brown starter Brandon Weeden will likely get the start for Dallas. The Cowboys ended last season going 8-8 for the third year in a row. They have not made the playoffs since 2009.

The Chargers, on the other hand, made an improbable postseason run last year despite their 9-7 record. With a second year under new head coach Mike McCoy and rookie of the year receiver Keenan Allen, starting quarterback Philip Rivers is in his best position in years to have more playoff success.

As Qualcomm Stadium is an open-air venue, weather will play a factor in this game. Fortunately, is predicting a great partly cloudy night for football with a temperature high of 75 degrees and a low of 65. There is also a zero percent chance of rain and the wind should be mild, coming out of the WNW at 11 mph.
