Cowboys Season Prediction: The Pre-Season Edition

That’s right! Before the Dallas Cowboys even take a snap in a pre-season game, I am going to predict where and what record the Dallas Cowboys will have by the end of the 2014 season.  The easy cop out would be to say 8-8, as that is what Dallas’ record has been for the last couple of years.  The consensus from Dallas Cowboys Groups on Facebook seems to be the 8-8 range.  After looking at the schedule and comparing the “strength of schedule” as well as the off-season moves and the injuries already to players such as Sean Lee, rookie Demarcus Lawrence and more recently Morris Claiborne and Dwayne Harris, adding in the coaching changes with Scott Linehan running the offense and new and proven defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli I’m going out on a very thin limb here and saying that the Cowboys will finish the 2014 season at 10 and 6 and as premature as people may think Jerry Jones was in sending playoff tickets to season ticket holders, I do believe that Dallas makes the playoffs but loses in the first round.

That being said, I based my predictions upon this, the Cowboys are going to fly under the radar.  Predictions from 3-13 to 6-10 from the generalized media will give the Cowboys a lift that they need to actually have to go out and prove something.

So you are probably wondering how I got my 10-6 prediction.  That was actually the easiest part.  I think that the Cowboys will come out with a bang on September 7th and will beat the 49ers.  The reasoning behind this is all the off-season drama in San Francisco plus a lot of inner conflicts between the team and coaches will cause San Francisco to not be the team they were the last two years.  I believe Dallas will start the season 3-0 and go on to lose to the Saints in week 4.  Then the Cowboys will come back with a bang against intra-State rivals Houston Texans and then lose to Seattle, because Seattle is at home, then win the next 4 games against the Giants, Redskins, Cardinals and then the Jaguars in London.   Then the Cowboys have their bye week in week 11 and come off of that to lose to the Giants, beat the Eagles on Thanksgiving Day and then lose to the Bears in week 14 and lose to the Eagles in week 15 lose to the Colts in week 16 and then fans have to hear about the dreaded “December Curse” but the Cowboys win in week 17 and go to the playoffs.

Now as to where the Cowboys will place in the division, I do believe they will finish first at 10-6 followed by the Eagles at 9-7 and the Redskins at 8-8 and the Giants at 7-9.

So there you have it my bold prediction in a nutshell for where the Dallas Cowboys will finish and what record they will have for the NFL Season 2014.
