On Tuesday, the Dallas Cowboys lost rookie defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence to a foot injury that will have him sidelined for up to three months. Although the Cowboys have plenty of options at defensive end on their current roster, which include George SelvieJeremy Mincey, Tyrone Crawford, Ben Bass, Caesar Rayford, Ben Gardner, Martez Wilson, and former Pro Bowler Anthony Spencer, the Dallas front office may look to free agency to fill the temporary void created by this latest injury. Therefore, I have compiled a list of 10 free agent players whom I believe are the best options for the Cowboys currently on the open market.

Adam Carriker

Defensive End, Washington Redskins

Defensive end Adam Carriker is looking for a new team after being released from the Washington Redskins in March. His release came as no surprise as the 30-year old Carriker hasn’t played since 2012 due to a recurring quad injury. Now, the former first round pick by the St. Louis Rams in 2007 claims to be fully healthy. Carriker even recently released a video deadlifting 505 pounds to prove it (see below). In just over four professional seasons, he has recorded 124 total tackle and 9.5 sacks. Although his numbers are spectacular, Carriker fits the bill to be signed by Dallas as yet another former first round pick looking for a second chance.
