The Dallas Cowboys’ training camp has started this week, and football season is finally on its way. Regular season cannot get here any quicker. At this point of the year, it is a good time to do a game-by-game prediction of the 2014 season. So without further ado, here are my predictions.

Week 1 Cowboys vs 49ers

The Cowboys begin the year against a tough 49ers team. The key to this match will be in the trenches. The 49ers have a strong offensive line and will most likely pound the ball at this weak Cowboys defense. With Sean Lee out for the season, the Cowboys may struggle against the run. The 49ers will definitely take care of this and play some smash mouth football. I ultimately predict the Cowboys losing their first game against the 49ers and start the season 0-1.

Week 2 Cowboys @ Titans

The Titans are the least talked about team in the NFL. They should not be underestimated though. Under a new coaching staff, the Titans could really surprise people. A Ken Whisenhunt offense usually has a ton of passing, so this will be a test for the Cowboys pass defense. Can the secondary redeem themselves? This is a game that I think the Cowboys will win. The Titans’ defense has some holes and is transitioning to a 3-4 scheme. I think Romo and Dez will have quite a day against the Titans and will lead the Cowboys to 1-1.

Week 3 Cowboys @ Rams

I love facing St. Louis. The Cowboys dominated the Rams the last two times they’ve faced them. DeMarco Murray rushed for over 400 yards in the last two matches against them. Once again Murray will be a key component to the Cowboys gameplan. Can the Rams learn from their past and contain Murray? Their defense is young and hungry, but I think Murray will still be effective and will lead the Cowboys to a 2-1 record.

Week 4 Cowboys vs Saints

I hate facing New Orleans. They just seem to get the best of us. I don’t like our chances against the Saints and their high octane offense. The secondary will really need to step up if they want to stand a chance. I don’t see the Cowboys winning this match and I see Drew Brees and his offenses running all over the Cowboys again. I see this game as a loss and the Cowboys fall to 2-2.
