Cowboys Fans Take To Twitter To Remember Robert Newhouse

After a long battle with heart disease and the effects of a stroke from 2010, former Dallas Cowboys fullback Robert Newhouse passed away on Tuesday. He was 64 years-old. Known for his hard-running style and 44-inch thighs, the Cowboys second round pick in 1972 played in Dallas his entire 12-year career. In that time, Newhouse not only blocked for Hall of Fame running back Tony Dorsett, but recorded 4,784 rushing yards and 31 rushing touchdowns while doing so. Famously, Newhouse helped the Cowboys win their second Super Bowl title in 1978 over the Denver Broncos by throwing a touchdown pass in the final minutes of the game. (See video below)

In memory of the Cowboy great and Texas native, players, fans and media alike have taken to Twitter to mourn his loss. Here are some of the best messages about Mr. Newhouse. May he rest in peace.
