Nick Hayden – Defensive Tackle

Last season Nick Hayden became an unexpected starter after defensive tackle Jay Ratliff failed to take the field as a member of the Dallas Cowboys. While Hayden was able to stay healthy for the entire season and contribute, his body of work simply was not starting caliber. He could be a valuable piece in the defensive line rotation, but the Cowboys cannot afford to have him starting in 2014.

If Hayden puts together an above average training camp, he will likely maintain his roster spot as a backup. If he struggles however, the franchise will be content with using players like rookies Davon Coleman and Ken Bishop to provide defensive line depth.
