FanSided's 2014 All NFC East Team Revealed

For the past two weeks the sites of FanSided NFL have been forming all-division teams. And soon, they will all battle it out to be named the best division in professional football. In that effort, I and my NFC East editor brethren from Riggo’s Rag, Gmen HQ and Inside The Iggles have formed our own all-star roster of players from the Washington Redskins, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys to compete in this battle.

Starting next week, FanSided will hold a tournament on NFLSpinZone.com to determine the best division in the NFL, culminating with all-division Super Bowl. Each round will be determined by a poll voted on by you and our other fabulous readers.

Below is the result of our efforts. I present to you the all-NFC East FanSided roster:

ALL NFC EAST OFFENSE (Updated)
Quarterback (1) – Nick Foles, Eagles
Running Back (1) – LeSean McCoy, Eagles
Wide Receivers (3) – DeSean Jackson, Redskins; Victor Cruz, Giants; Dez Bryant, Cowboys
Tight Ends (1) – Jordan Reed, Redskins;
Offensive Tackles (2) – Trent Williams, Redskins; Tyron Smith, Cowboys
Guards (2) – Geoff Schwartz, Giants, Evan Mathis, Eagles
Center (1) – Jason Kelce, Eagles

ALL NFC EAST DEFENSE

Defensive Tackles (2) – Barry Cofield, Redskins; Henry Melton, Cowboys
Defensive Ends (2) – Jason Hatcher, Redskins, Jason Pierre-Paul, Giants
Linebackers (3) – Brian Orakpo, Redskins; DeMeco Ryans, Eagles, Trent Cole, Eagles
Cornerbacks (2) – Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Giants; Brandon Boykin, Eagles
Safeties (2) – Antrel Rolle, Giants; Barry Church, Cowboys

As you can imagine, finding common ground with our picks was a little bit of a challenge since we are all division rivals. For instance, as a Cowboys fan, I voted for quarterback Tony Romo‘s experience and track record over the Eagles Nick Foles one great year. But the other editors thought Foles gave us the best chance to win now.

Another surprise for Cowboys fans could be the addition of defensive tackle Henry Melton. Although he had a Pro Bowl bid in 2012, an ACL injury the following year has many fans wondering what he’ll play like in his return to a totally different team. But my NFC East counterparts still believe his impact will be higher than the division’s other defensive tackles in 2014. So Melton made the list.

But what do you think? Leave your thoughts in our comment section below.

The Landry Hat Reader’s All NFC East Team will be revealed tomorrow morning.
