With the Dallas Cowboys offseason in full swing, some Cowboys sites will be going into hibernation until the start of training camp in late July. But not The Landry Hat! For us, it’s easy to discuss, debate, and just plain old talk about our favorite team all year long because we love to. And it’s in that spirit that I believe it’s time for us fans to make some bold predictions about the upcoming 2014 regular season. Therefore, The Landry Hat is starting a new daily series called Over/Under.
It’s fairly simple. We’ll present you a daily topic, You’ll tell us if you think that particular Cowboys player will get over or under that stat for the entire regular season and why.
Here’s today’s Over/Under question:
Will Bruce Carter record 100 total tackles in 2014?
Here’s what you need to know: The fourth-year linebacker out of North Carolina is in the final year of his rookie deal, making 2014 a contract year for Carter. Many believe this could be his final season in Dallas. The under-performing Carter has yet to reach the 100 total tackle plateau in his first three years in Dallas. His tackle numbers within that time span have been 8, 70, and 96 respectively.
But with the season-ending injury suffered by starting middle linebacker Sean Lee earlier this offseason, Carter is expected to play a major role in this linebacker corps in 2014. And with his job literally on the line, it’s now or never for this young linebacker to perform up to the potential that earned him a second round selection by the Cowboys in 2011.
Now, it’s your turn. Answer the question below then head further down the page to our comment section to tell us why. Get in on the great conversation with passionate fans just like you by joining the ever growing Landry Hat community. Go Cowboys!
