The Dallas Cowboys had many problems to address when they entered free agency several months ago. With the loss of big name franchise staples like defensive end DeMarcus Ware and defensive tackle Jason Hatcher, the defense suffered tremendous blows to add to an already dismal year.

Since the franchise is actively trying to improve their salary cap situation, the modest nature by which they were forced to spend this offseason was in stark contrast to what fans have become accustomed to in recent years. The team is hoping that it can not only replace the pieces it lost, but also improve a historically poor defensive unit.

The scouting department has been phenomenal at finding players at discount prices in recent years. Players like offensive tackle Marc Colombo, receiver Laurent Robinson, and defensive end George Selvie are examples of surprise contributors the Cowboys found in free agency. Who is likely to follow in the footsteps of the aforementioned names this season?
