Cowboys 2014 Draft: Twitter Reacts To Demarcus Lawrence Selection

The Dallas Cowboys got active fairly quickly on Day Two of the 2014 NFL Draft. Moving up to the second pick in the second round (34th overall), the Cowboys drafted Boise State defensive end Demarcus Lawrence. But Dallas traded their second round (47) and third round picks (78) to the rival Washington Redskins in order to make that move. And some fans feel the team overpaid for Mr. Lawrence services. While others seem content that Dallas finally addressed their defensive needs. Below, you’ll find some of the best tweets of the night about the Cowboys newest player.

Bone headed move to trade away third all the players that almost all of us had slated to go to dallas are off the board they went for one player instead of two just doesn’t make sense as much as this team needs depth sorry not impressed with dallas at this point good pick but didn’t have to trade up because there were still ends on the board now all of them are gone bad choice!!! In my opinion

But there were no good RDE’S on the board. Big difference between right & left.

Ok I see what your saying but what if this guy stinks it up & we get really no production from him if I’m not mistaking our third round last year Terrance Williams was more productive than Escobar a lot of that was do to his playing time but all in all that third rounder can make a difference I just rather have more players for this team than just one because they got him that one guy there defense still has to get better way better a lot of players we thought would be 4th rounders & third are with other teams good football players are gone we only have one in zach Martin idk what were getting out of Lawrence I hope this guy proves me wrong I really do..

Meanwhile the Niners are killing the draft with depth like mad..

  • Juanito Juanito

Good picks, but cowboys are paying the bad past drafts, 2008, 2009, thank you jerry

He better be a baller because during his first week at training camp lining up opposite Tyron he’s gonna realize pretty quick this ain’t the MWC and he ain’t in Idaho anymore. Didn’t like giving up the 3rd but everyone in the War Room seemed so stoked I have to have faith they know what they’re doing.

I think he was definately a McClay and Rod pick. Just wish it wasnt so expensive..

      • Old Frog

        Well he’s only 21. Hopefully he’s a fast learner.

Here is five or so players to hope for in the 4th round tomorrow. They are in no particular order, Telvin Smith, Trevor Reilly, Dion Bailey, Daquan Jones, Anthony Johnson and Martavis Bryant.

I agree with all those but would think Reid & Quarles would be better DT fits for Dallas though. They have the capability to play both DT spots. Also gives more rush ability from the 1 tech then your typical nose would give.
