The fans in CowboyNation have been reading during the past week about Johnny Manziel and how Dallas wants the Texas A&M product.  Experts in the football world have been questioning how the Cowboys could use him.  Jim Nantz reported in Sports Illustrated that the Cowboys were “intrigued by the possibility of adding Johnny Manziel to the roster”.

My question would be, what would the Cowboys have to give up if the rumor was true?  Imagine for a moment that the possibility was there.  Dallas would have to possibly give up several draft picks just to get the first pick in the draft from state-rival Houston.  The Texans wouldn’t make it easy considering they would have to see each other in October 5thfor state bragging rights.  I could see the Texans asking for two number one draft picks.  Ours in 2014 and 2015, another second round selection in 2014.  The deal made in the movie, “Draft Day” was a little far-fetched, but that is also Hollywood for you.

Then the question would be, where to put Manziel on the field? He isn’t the type of personality that would quietly sit on the bench awaiting his turn.  With the investment that Jones made in Romo, he (Jones) would surely not allow Romo to sit.  For his rookie season, I could see some option plays put in place along with running the Wild Cat as Manziel could be the quarterback at the receiver position.  Could the Cowboys trade Romo in the trade?  I am sure they could, but then again, Jones is in love with the quarterback he has signed for a 7-year, $119 million dollar contract.
