The Dallas Cowboys Fans 2014 Mock Draft; You Are Jerry Jones!

Attention Dallas Cowboys fans and Landry Hat readers! With the 2014 NFL Draft less than ten days away, if you are anything like me, you’ve read hundreds of mock drafts and every possible selection scenario imaginable for your beloved Cowboys. All done by the “so-called” experts. Well, now it’s your turn.

I am challenging our faithful readers to submit there own seventh round mock drafts for their Cowboys. I want you to become Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones. You get the final say on any and all Dallas draft picks. Then I want you to post your results to the comment section of this article. The best mocks will then be used in an upcoming article accompanied by analysis from myself, and hopefully the rest of CowboysNation.

Here are some guidelines to follow to give everyone the same ground rules.

Every needs to use the On The Clock Mock Draft Simulator at Fanspeak.com.

Here’s the link:  http://fanspeak.com/ontheclock/

Here’s how it works in Four Easy Steps:

  • First: After clicking on the above link, select your team by clicking on the Cowboys helmet. Then click the “Next” button.
  • Second: Select “7” Rounds to mock. Then click the “Next” button.
  • Third: Select “Walter Football” as the Big Board you’d like to use. Then click the “Next” button.
  • Fourth: Click the “Let’s Draft” button to get started. At the end of each round, click the “Next Round” button.

Once the mock draft completed, it will ask you to “SUBMIT YOUR DRAFT TO BE FEATURED”.

At that page, scroll down until you see a right hand side column titled: VIEW EACH TEAM’S DRAFT. Highlight your draft picks, right click for the drop down menu and select “copy”. Then “paste” those results in the below comment section.

It should look something like this when done right:

16
OLB ANTHONY BARR
UCLA
47
DE DEE FORD
AUBURN
78
DT DOMINIQUE EASLEY
FLORIDA
119
DT WILL SUTTON

ILB MAX BULLOUGH
MICHIGAN STATE
248
S BROCK VEREEN
MINNESOTA
251
C COREY LINSLEY
OHIO STATE
254
G JOHN URSCHEL

Note: Due to spacing, I’m going to ask each commenter only submit one mock draft each. So keep drafting until you feel you’ve found the best one. And feel free to add analysis to your picks as well. Most of all, have fun! And we’ll see which one of you Jerry Jones’ can come up with the best mock for our beloved Dallas Cowboys.

In reality with Donald and Barr off the board I would probably trade back in the 1st and try to pick up CJ Mosley and an extra 2nd or 3rd round pick which I would then use for a quality O line prospect. The rest of this draft came right to me…. I would sleep well next week if the Boys come away with a haul close to this! What say you?

    DE MARCUS SMITH
LOUISVILLE Why not go get us a pass rusher to compete for playing time and add more depth to the D-line believe Marcus could start day one as well.
    158
    DE MICHAEL SAM
MISSOURI Why not go 5 for 5 this will not be the worst defense in the NFL for another year and why not get the Co-defensive player of the year for SEC. I don’t care what critics say he can rush the passer. And adds another body to add to the rotation for Rod.

    WR CODY HOFFMAN
BYU Needed to find a number 3 reciever he just may fill that role.

    WR JOSH STEWART
OKLAHOMA STATE Another receiver that can compete for the third slot.

    P KIRBY VAN DER KAMP
IOWA STATE Need another leg to compete with Jones at camp.
    251
    WR JEFF JANIS
SAGINAW VALLEY really like his size may just make the team too can use receivers to compete at camp.

    FB J.C. COPELAND
LSU Best FB in the draft would be happy to see him on the team.

I really would have packed 3 seven round picks and a future pick to get my hands on Josh Huff in the 6th round. I still would have drafted Copeland, Kamp, and Janis. I went defense with pick 1 thur 5 and we need defensive help and we get it couldn’t be happier with my draft. This team will not be the worst defensive team for a second year.

As for WR, OT, & S they were pretty much skin & bones so I may have over compensated in other areas.

  • Albert Smith

To put it bluntly you all have done admorable jobs in mocking the Dallas Cowboys thank you for your thoughts, true fans.

Not the best draft ever I have to admit but the players didn’t fall nicely in the first few rounds. Forgive me I am English!
