With the NFL releasing their team’s regular season schedules on Wednesday night, including that of the Dallas Cowboys, I thought I’d jump on the predictions bandwagon and give my way too early game-by-game picks for the 2014 season. In the following pages, you’ll find statical information about each team the Cowboys will face in 2014, the results of their last match-up and finally my prediction. At the end of the article, I’ll calculate the predicted overall record for Dallas and it’s possible effects going forward. Let’s start with Week One…

Week One – San Francisco 49ers @ Dallas Cowboys

2013 Record: 12-4
2013 Offense Rank: 24th
2013 Defense Rank: 5th
2013 Playoffs: Yes
Last Game vs Dallas: 2011, Week Two – Win
Score: DAL 27 @ SF 24 (OT)

2014 Prediction: This is a tough way to start the season for the Cowboys. Despite the home opener, I see the 49ers defense outplaying the Cowboys defense. The offenses for me are a “push”. Edge San Fran. Dallas starts the year 0-1.

Against the Colts, if home field wins out, why do you have us losing? Game is in AT&T Stadium.

Thanks for pointing this out. The correction has been made.

Given the schedule I think most fans would consider 9-7 a successful season. Seems like many are more pessimistic looking for 8-8 or worse.

Dream on, 7-9 or 6-10 Trust me.

Yeah; Just What Kind Of Ganja Are You Smoking? Losing To The Titans And Jokeuars?? And Guess What? The Bears Are Definitely Not The Same Team They Were,And, Neither Are The Cardinals! And, You Guys Are Sure Going To Be Red-Faced When The Shegals Collapse!!!

Until the draft is over this is meaningless, but I don’t believe the cowboys will be in the playoffs. Cowboy fans, nothing will change as long as we accept losing. Stop spending your money to support the status quo and demand higher standards. Low attendance might get their financial attention.

I fear the worse this year. We’ve been hanging on and hanging on. The branch is going to break. I only see the Cowboys winning 4 or 5 games. I hope I’m wrong.
