THE “BIG” NAMES

Of the remaining free agents out there to be had, there are certainly some high-profile names.  Chris Johnson, Santonio Holmes and Asante Samuel – all whom have been big time performers at some point in their careers – headline the list.  Holmes should not be touched with a ten foot pole as he is pretty much the definition of a me-first, locker room cancer.

Johnson would be a mildly entertaining thought given that he is still only 28 years old and has never failed to reach the 1,000 yard rushing mark in any season.  He also is a threat as a receiver out of the backfield, averaging 45 catches per season but he will want one last shot at being “the man” and Dallas already has theirs in DeMarco Murray.

Samuel is another interesting possibility as he is a former All-Pro defensive back who has twice led the league in interceptions.  With the Cowboys corner back duo of Carr and Claiborne both not fulfilling the hopes the organization had for them, it makes a guy like Samuel all the more intriguing.  Unfortunately, he also seems to not be the best locker room type guy and his age (33) makes it tough to count on any production, especially at his position.
