Every year, almost all of the most talked about draft prospects come from the traditional college football powerhouses. Perhaps rightfully so, as the most talented players tend to end up playing for the big boys. But, every year, there are also legitimate NFL prospects that slipped through the cracks during the recruiting process, and must work to overcome the small-school bias of the NFL Draft process. This year’s crop of prospects is no different, and there are several players from schools that you probably didn’t even know had football teams who could end playing big roles for the Dallas Cowboys in the near future.

Even with the signing of Henry Melton, expect Dallas to look to add some help at defensive tackle. They’ve been tied to several top prospects in the first round, but if they go in another direction with their first pick, Princeton’s Caraun Reid or Zach Kerr from Delaware might be options later on.

The Cowboys have not had a lot of success when drafting small school players of late. Especially in the middle rounds..

Dakota Dozier stands out to me as one of the best small school prospects that the Boys could target.

We have Six 7th rounders, maybe trade Two of those and move Up to the Sixth round for one of these players, we’d Still have Four 7th roundes to add a couple more of these players..
