Robert Meachem

Age: 29
Height / Weight: 6’2′ / 215
Former Team: New Orleans Saints
2013 Stats: 16 recs, 324 yds, 2 TDs
Career Stats: 171 recs, 2800 yds,  27 TDs
2013 Salary: $715,000

Note: The biggest knock on Meachem is he buckled under the pressure of being the primary target in San Diego in 2012. The fact is he is just better suited in a third wide out role. That fact plus his price tag and experience make him a perfect candidate to fill that void in Dallas. But the word on the streets says he’ll likely re-sign with the Saints. If not, the Cowboys should at least take a look.

I wouldn’t spend the money. Lots of quality WR’s in this draft and Beasley and Harris aren’t slouches.

Yes the Boys need more depth than just 4 WRs. Austin was wouldn’t help there since he is never available or productive. I am fine with Beasely and Harris as the starting slot receiver. They both can get it done. From there go to the draft.

Like DT’s, WR’s seem to pop out of the woodwork come pre-season work-outs time. Every one of these FA guys you’ve suggested have some significant degree of baggage they’re bringing with them, something Dallas needs no more of.

Wait. There’ll be plenty of young, maliable WR’s show up after the draft for a lot less money and with no previous problems.

Out of the list, Amendola is my favorite. But there are guys that are day 3 draft projections that would suit us just fine. L’Damian Washington, Shaq Evans, and Kevin Norwood are guys to keep an eye on.

I think the Cowboys should take a WR in the first round, especially if Marquise Lee is available. He would round out the offense and we would have one of the best WR corps in the league. Also sets up for a great future for the offense. We have vested heavily on defense in our past drafts like Crawford and we just need to let them play. We can draft more lineman and safeties the rest of the draft but we shouldnt pass on a stud like Lee
