Earlier this week, former Dallas Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips tweeted out this controversial stat to CowboysNation:
“Jason Garrett is tied with Wade Phillips for 56 games as the @dallascowboys head coach. Phillips: 34 – 22; Garrett: 29 -27. #suprisesMe”
Three hours later, Phillips tweeted out this explanation:
“My surprise was that Jason and I had coached the same number of games. Not the record – time passes quickly -I wish Jason & Cowboys well”
Regardless of his intentions, the comparison of the two back-to-back coaches was inevitable. Although it can be argued that Phillips’ success came with current Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett as his offensive coordinator. And that they have both coached a team full of players handpicked by legendary head coach Bill Parcells.
Still, the winning percentages do tell a tale. But which one is actually a better head coach in your eyes: Garrett or Phillips? That’s today’s poll question. Leave your vote below and feel free to explain your selection in our comments section.
