Sitting through yet another playoffs without the Cowboys as a participant is about as status quo as it gets. It’s pretty bad that on a consistent basis we Dallas fans are looking forward to the NFL Draft more so than the Super Bowl.
With that in mind, I start thinking about the hysterical things that seem to come out of people’s heads.
I’ve read articles talking about why guys like Johnny Manziel should be at the top of the list, and man I honestly think that we are lucky these people are not the ones in charge.
Let me be up front and readily admit that I am a huge Longhorn fan, but let me also say that I am a huge fan of both Dat Nguyen (Aggie) and Demarco Murray (Sooner), among other players who have put the star on their head.
Having a guy who does nothing but run around in the backfield only to throw the ball downfield is not exactly a great pick.
Trust me guys, you heard it here first, that Johnny Manziel will be the next great NFL bust. He is an overrated player with average throwing ability and athleticism. Just wait until he finds out that guys like Orakpo, Pierre-Paul, Von Miller (also an Aggie I might add) are much faster and more athletic than the average SEC defensive lineman.
Maybe I’m just lashing out at Manziel because I feel there are way bigger needs on this team than some make or break player.
Having sat through multiple drafts in which we continue to grab players that are useless to our team is becoming about as common as this team not making the playoffs.
Hmmm, I wonder if those things happen to have any relation.
Sorry Johnny, I don’t think you can help us. And maybe I’m stepping out onto this limb all by myself but I really do feel bad for the sucker that uses their first rounder on you.
Defense, defense, defense. C’mon Jerry, for once just draft for what we need.
I know my cries are in vain. Come to think of it, I should probably be less worried about Manziel and more worried about which tight end we will inevitably draft this year.
