Dirty little secrets
Dirty little lies
We got our dirty little fingers in everybody’s pie
We love to cut you down to size
We love dirty laundry
We can do “The Innuendo”
We can dance and sing
When it’s said and done we haven’t told you a thing
We all know that Crap is King
Give us dirty laundry!
Hysteria creates more excitement and traffic than feel good stories. That is why we heard so little about Dez Bryant’s purchase of game systems for people and so much about his fight with his Mom. Which story deserved more attention? I’ll go with the feel good story all day long. I loved the Jon Kitna story because I believe some football players give a whole lot more than people recognize. His was a great example. I think Warrick Dunn is one of the greatest guys in the History of the NFL. If you do not know why, it sort of proves my point. What he has done goes largely unreported. It is a travesty.
In recent years we had two similar feel good stories about Tony Romo. Changing the tire for the old couple at midnight, and taking the homeless man to a movie. Great stuff that got little to no play at all. But if he throws an INT to end a game, everyone is throwing dirt on his grave. What exactly was more important in the grand scheme of things? A play in a game, or kindness to humanity?
