Dec 15, 2013; Arlington, TX, USA; Green Bay Packers cornerback Sam Shields (37) intercepts the ball in the fourth quarter against Dallas Cowboys receiver Miles Austin (19) at AT

2. Cut Miles Austin

This move should come as little surprise. Miles Austin who became a very rich man following the 2009 season signing a seven year and $54 million deal. Next year his cap hit is $ 8.348 million and with his limited production the dead money hit might be worth it. He could also become a June 1st salary cap casualty. The only way Austin could stay in Dallas is with a severe pay cut. With players like Dez Bryant, Terrance Williams, Dwayne Harris, Cole Beasley and possibly Danny Coale do the Cowboys really need him?

I agree with everything u said but add Heath whoever thought he could play needs to be fired and he should get a job at teaching 7 the grade math

  • Josh Hart

    Hire an actual GM

  • jamison

How abt firing the DC the assistant coaches did a good job on the defense side of the ball for the amount of players they had to shuffle in do to injuries. Find a way to trade M. Austin we can get a 3 or 4 round pick. Totally agree with the conditioning coaches gots to go

  • Dean

Bill Callahan made this a great running team. He just doesn;t call runs enough. keep him as o line coach because the zone scheme is great but not play caller

  • Juanito Juanito

Kubiak for oc and call the plays, he like run a lot

I know everyone, including myself is saying Ware isn’t worth what he’s being paid but is it possible he could play outside linebacker in the 4-3 scheme or is he too slow?

  • MercWithaMouth

I disagree on Eberflus, he too is adjusting back to a 4-3 and playing LB in a 4-3 is different than in a 3-4 so coaching is going to take a little more time… Id give Eberflus more time

Dear Mr. Conn, I wanted to point out an error in your article regarding the fact that this is the time a team has had three consecutive seasons with the same record. The truth is this has happened twelve times in NFL history and since 2002, it has happened two other times besides this time by the Cowboys….both times by the Buffalo Bills…(2006-2008 with a record of 7-9 and 2011-2013 with a record of 6-10).
