STRONGLY REDUCE JEFF HEATH’S SNAPS

If you asked me to choose who I’d remove first, Webb or Heath, I’d actually choose Heath and that’s saying a lot.  Aside from one big play a game (deep pass deflection or fumble recovery), Heath has been a huge black hole on the back end.

I’d remove Heath before Webb due to the fact that Heath’s disastrous play effects many more plays in a game.  Both his run support and coverage have been awful. Time and again I have seen Heath surrender big gains while being out of position.

Where is J.J. Wilcox?  If he’s out there playing, how can he still be hurt?  Doesn’t make sense.  For the second straight game back from injury, Wilcox (14 plays) took far less snaps than Heath (70 plays).

Does Kiffin not realize J.J. Wilcox was his starting safety for a reason?  Even if Wilcox is struggling some since returning from injury, there’s no way his play has been beneath Jeff Heath.

If they want Heath to take some snaps too, then flip the play total or at least even it out. Heath taking 5 times more snaps than the starting safety is a joke.

By playing B.W. Webb and Jeff Heath together in pass coverage, Dallas deserves every painful first down and touchdown they are surrendering at an alarming rate.

Kiffin is doing nothing short of feeding the offensive coordinator a guaranteed way to expose and defeat his defense.

Spot on Brad. All of this is obvious to us fans, so why are the coaches so clueless? Heath and Webb are special teamers this year at best. Wilcox should be starting. Mo has to be reminded that football players play. CBs were all drafted based on their man to man skills for RR’s scheme. Coaches need to adapt to player’s skill set.
