In a rare moment of lucid clarity, Jerry Jones is credited with stating that one of his worst mistakes was letting Sean Payton leave the Cowboys coaching staff. Although I try not to, I sometimes wonder what type of team Dallas would have been if Payton had been the head coach here instead of New Orleans. Interestingly, both Dallas and New Orleans teams are, in many ways, mirror images of each other, except in the consistency department, of course. Payton and Bree’s have teamed up and created an offensive powerhouse. They’re good on the ground and involve the entire team when they throw. There’s much to learn from watching how Payton and Bree’s attack the Dallas defenses come Sunday might. We already pretty much know how Ryan’s defense is going to attack the Dallas offense. Our offensive line had better prepare for hand-to-hand combat because that’s what Ryan is going to bring to get at Romo and show Jerry Jones that mistakes might come in twos.
