3. Minnesota had three first round picks this year. What is your grade for each so far this season?

The Vikings have really struggled to incorporate their first rounders into the team’s dynamic.

The most dynamic of the three has been wide receiver/kick returner Cordarrelle Patterson. He has two of the three kickoff returns for touchdowns in the NFL this year and is always a threat to take it to the house. I’d give him a B just because of the team’s lack of getting him involved.

The most disappointing pick has been Sharrif Floyd. Although he has been sitting behind Kevin Williams in the depth chart, fans have expected more of an impact from him. But we won’t get to find out what he really has to offer the team until he is thrust into the starting role. His grade would be a C at this point, because he needs more time to be evaluated.

Meanwhile, Xavier Rhodes has had some growing pains, but has been a physical corner that could see a lot more time against the Cowboys if cornerback Chris Cook is unable to play. But at this point, I think he’s developing nicely and could be one of the long term answers for this team. Grade: B- until we get to see more of his play.
