Cowboys Could Trade Two First Round Draft Picks for Adrian Peterson

The Cowboys have three players aged 29: Receiver Miles Austin, Offensive Tackle Doug Free and Defensive End Anthony Spencer. With the exception of Doug Free, these players aren’t contributing much this year. The oft-injured Miles Austin is losing his second receiver spot to Terrance Williams (24) and his slot role to Cole Beasley (24) and Dwayne Harris (26). Anthony Spencer just stole 10.627 million by signing his franchise tag contract and getting on injured reserve. This is his last season as a Dallas Cowboy. Doug Free has played well, surprisingly well, but Jeremy Parnell (27) is being groomed as his replacement.

The Cowboys have managed to “rebuild” their roster without having to become abysmal. We are younger and don’t have major positions of need. I think the Cowboys could use two offensive guards, but they would be available in the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the NFL draft. Defensive tackles and ends could be found in the later rounds of the draft. With our future secure and our roster filled with talented, young individuals, a trade for Adrian Peterson wouldn’t negatively impact the Cowboys future at all.

I’d buy that for a dollar and make that trade in a heartbeat.
