Let’s take a look at this, currently my favorite Dallas Cowboy is the kicker, Dan Bailey.  I like him because he’s consistent on a more often than not inconsistent team.  He rarely misses and when he does he’s visible upset and adjusts the way he kicks the next time.

On the flip side, I really don’t care much for Miles Austin.  It’s not that I’m not appreciative of his time and effort and spectacular catches he’s had for Dallas but following Miles Austin’s career, he’s always been injury prone (even before he became a starter) and he cannot be relied upon consistently.

I point this out only to address that fact that the above mentioned trade would not affect me in the way.  I understand business is business and it’s not one of my favorite players being traded.  Now on the flip side, if Dallas were to throw someone in like Dan Bailey or Cole Beasley I would have major issues with it on the fan side but the realistic side of me knows once again it’s just a business deal.

So what makes a fan pick a certain player as their favorite and what happens when those favorites are in a trade rumor?

Well curiosity got the best of me and I took a poll in numerous social media groups and this was the top 5 findings.

It would be just like Jones to destroy the team’s future for one player who is injury prone. After all, he has done it before.

I don’t see AP in Dallas. It’s not as if with him the Cowboys are a sure thing for a Super Bowl. They would be better off keeping their picks and going with what they have. A similar trade between these two teams comes to mind. How did that one play out again?
