Cowboys Nation: The Empire Strikes Back While Romo Twerks

Division games in the NFC East are serious.

Cowboys. Redskins. Dead serious.

With many implications going into last Sunday’s game, Tony Romo decided to take a week off and pencil in the game as a bye week. The reason he didn’t take the game seriously?

Twerking.

Yes, twerking.

Romo was seen on the sidelines doing his best Miley Cyrus impression. Coach Jason Garrett, knowing the NFC East was up for grabs, was obviously upset. He proceeded to take off his headset to coach Romo on how to twerk properly.

Though the quarterback won’t admit it in interviews, teammates close to him say Romo wanted to go three and out on consecutive possessions in the 2nd half.

One of those teammates (who asked not to be named — but will be anyways), Jason Witten, reported to NBC that Romo got his technique down after visiting youtube.com on his iPad Mini.

Also, word on the street is Garrett intends to sit down with members of congress to see if they had anything to do with the Redskins shutting down.

It was that kind of game.

Nothing fancy. Just a team win. Name dropping was not necessary.

Well, unless your name is Dwayne Harris.

Any Cowboys fan, and I mean any, will tell you how special this special teams player is.

For America, it was their chance to see number 17’s coming out party. For the rest of Cowboys Nation, it was just another night we clapped and cheered for the 2011 sixth round draft choice.

This is Dwayne Harris. This is what he does.

Harris embodies elements of a perfect teammate. He has the drive. Hard worker. Smart. And he plays every down like it is his last (see: special teams tackles).

On the Sunday Night stage, Harris’ effort rubbed off on his teammates. Cowboys Nation googled all the no names that splashed across their television screens.

Players like defensive end Kyle Wilber. Drave Nevis and Nick Hayden. 26 year-old George Selvie need be mentioned too.

When being interviewed by NBC for his spectacular special teams play, Harris played it off like a veteran. He put the spotlight away from him and credited his teammates for giving him the blocks.

Classy.

See, Harris has been here before. Some people are just meant to do what they do.

Now on to more serious stuff.

Back to twerking.
