The NFC East is a division of the NFL steeped in tradition and rivalries. Unfortunately, it is also currently the worst division in football. The NFC East is the only division without a team posting a record over .500. And with the division leading 2-2 Dallas Cowboys facing the undefeated juggernaut of Peyton Manning and his Denver Broncos’ this weekend, that fact isn’t going to change anytime soon.
Still, at least one team will emerge to make the playoffs out of this division. And according to Skip Bayless, co-host of ESPN’s First Take, there will actually be two:
“I don’t waffle on my picks. I have the Redskins winning the division. Remember, we’ve only played four games so far. And I have the Dallas Cowboys making the playoffs. Repeat after me: Making the playoffs. I’m not going to waffle. I’m not going to crumble. I’m not going to say ‘ohhh…I don’t know. I better wait till next week’. I’m hanging in there. “
The Washington Redskins currently sit second in NFC East at 1-3, with their lone victory coming on Sunday against the 1-3 Oakland Raiders. They lost their previous three games against the Philadelphia Eagles, Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions.
Bayless’ co-host, and self-proclaimed New York Giants fan Stephen A. Smith, responded by saying everything short of the Cowboys would win the division. Apparently, he hates Dallas too much to give them that.
