Dallas Cowboys vs. Kansas City Chiefs Injury Report

The Dallas Cowboys and the Kansas City Chiefs will face off today at Arrowhead Stadium. There are three big names on the teams injury reports that should concern fans on both sides. Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles, cornerback Dunta Robinson and Cowboys defensive end Anthony Spencer.

Pro Football Talk has discovered through a league source that Robinson will miss Sunday’s game. He’s not a starting corner but Robinson covers the slot receiver. His absence could be good news for Cowboys wideout Miles Austin. Austin was the Cowboys reception leaders in last weeks victory over the New York Giants with 10 catches for 72 yards.

Charles suffered a quad injury near the end of the third quarter against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week. He returned for just one play afterwards and then sat out the rest of the game. But Charles was productive enough to ensure the Chiefs lopsided victory over the Jags, 28-2. He recorded 100 yards of total offense and a touchdown in the win. In practice this week, Charles sat out on Wednesday, was limited on Thursday and was a full participant on Friday. That’s good news for both Chiefs fans and fantasy football lovers. It appears Charles should be fine for the game and is listed as “probable” on the injury report.

Spencer’s potential to play in today’s game is a little more unclear. After missing the preseason and Week One due to complications experienced during the rehabilitation after knee surgery in late July, Spencer is listed as questionable in the official injury report. Spencer was able to practice on a limited basis on both Wednesday and Friday, but sat out on Thursday.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Spencer will play today, but in a reserve role only. Also remember, Spencer is playing a new position in a new defensive scheme he has had only two days to practice in. The Cowboys are likely to take it slow with the first time Pro Bowler from last season. Journeyman defensive end George Selvie will start in his place again today. Selvie recorded two tackles and one sack in last weeks win over the Giants.
