Now that the pre-season is finally over and done with, Cowboys fans and more importantly the organization can shift their focus to the season opener, one week from now versus the Giants. A huge step in that process took place yesterday when the Cowboys trimmed their roster down to final 53 players that will make the 2013 version of this team. Let’s take a look at how the roster was chosen and see what possibilities are still open as I am sure there are still moves to be made.
Tony Romo, Kyle Orton
No surprise here. At times Dallas had up to five quarterbacks in camp but ultimately only Romo and Orton deserved a spot. Alex Tanney showed brief glimpses of promise but those were few and far between. If the Cowboys choose, I am sure he will pass through waivers, making him eligible for the practice squad. Truthfully there was just no need for three quarterbacks.
