Aug 24, 2013; Arlington, TX, USA; Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle (35) runs with the ball in the fourth quarter against the Cincinnati Bengals at AT

Running Backs

DeMarco Murray

Lance Dunbar

Joseph Randle

Phillip Tanner

Kendial Lawrence

Analysis: Due to the injury history of this entire group, I believe keeping four running backs is the wisest course of action for the Cowboys. Although coaches were impressed by Kendial Lawrence during OTA’s and mini-camps, he was unable to get on the field enough in the preseason to show anything. The Cowboys simply have too much talent at that position to keep Lawrence around, even on the scout team.

Even with Ratliff off the roster (on PUP), there are 54 players.

Scratch that, I’m an idiot. There are 53.

I agree Cohen is just a “placeholder” until final cuts are made, but disagree on Bell. Let him go and let Armstrong be a vital Special Teamer and receiving option.

Sterling Moore stays. He earned the 5th corner spot. I think that McCray is out n they only keep 4 safeties.

Root in’ for Pellerin. Not sure why though.

I think we all knew the majority of the players making the roster. So it’s not a difficult task overall. No way they keep 11 OL. Matt Johnson should be cut. There is no room on the roster or PS for someone that is never available to play. I disagree that they need him. How could a team need a player that can’t even practice? Moore makes this team.

How can they keep Danny McCray? The guy has been exposed as a serious liability in the secondary, and safety is too thin a spot on this roster to keep a guy who gets routinely burned in coverage…
How do you cut Danny McCray? He’s one of the best core special teams players in the league, and the ‘Boys need all the studs they can muster for their woeful kicking game…
Love to be a fly on the wall in these roster meetings to hear Kiffin and Bisaccia go at it.
